A kind follower reminded me of that '7 Cardinal Rules of Life' post going around, and they asked me if I would ever do my take on them (that being, a writerly take). Well, seeing as how I’ve been running a Writer Positivity series for over 100 posts, I thought it would be a fun chance to collect some of my favorite advice!

PS: The above are not meant to be taken as ‘literal’ rules for writing, but rather advice for leading the lifestyle of a writer~ ♥︎

recently i was approached by boom studios with an offer to do an ADVENTURE TIME COMIC COVER, and i jumped on the chance to be a part of a series that ive always enjoyed a whole dang lot

after submitting three potential designs we went with my personal favorite, the one with a big ol nod to m.c. escher. even if it doesnt get chosen as an official cover i still had a lot of fun with the design ! and id imagine if escher was still around to see it hed say something like “how did i get here” and “whats going on”. haha classic escher

What if verbal abuse left the same scars as physical abuse? Would it be taken more seriously? That’s what photographer Richard Johnson hopes to accomplish with his new photo project, “Weapons of Choice.”

The series uses a makeup artist to put bruises and scars on photo subjects. Embedded in these violent marks are some hateful words typically associated with abuse, such as “Stupid,” “Dumb,” “Trash” and others that are much, much worse.

Tragic video captures parents’ abusive response to their son coming out

For all the progress that America has made in moving toward LGBT equality, moments like this remind us how far we have left to go.

On Wednesday, a video of a young man named Daniel Pierce made waves after being posted to the Reddit community /r/gaybros. The video, brought to Reddit’s attention by Pierce’s boyfriend, showed the teenager being confronted by his religious family members over his sexual orientation — then being verbally and physically attacked by them.

It’s a heartbreaking, and at times, very difficult to watch.

Sadly, his story is not unique Follow micdotcom

All these arguments sound excruciatingly familiar
